www.saltspringforum.ca
In the first year of its existence, the Forum has hosted speakers as
diverse and notable as Stephen Lewis, Andrew Coyne, David Suzuki,
Maher Arar and Amy Goodman. It has organised a literary festival
featuring Shelagh Rogers, Charles Foran, Carmen Aguirre, Esi Edugyan
and Terry Glavin. It has held workshops and supported research on
human rights, climate change, defence procurement, and Arctic
sovereignty.
As the Salt Spring Forum enters the next stage of its development, it
seeks a full-time Executive Director with energy, vision, and superb
organisational, communications and interpersonal skills. A proven
ability to stage successful public events is highly desirable, as is
the ability to work closely and cooperatively with a volunteer board
and grass-roots membership.
Applicants must be willing to live on Salt Spring Island, in one of
Canada’s most engaged and creative communities.
Applicants of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to submit a
short cover letter and résumé before April 10, 2012, to
jm@saltspringforum.ca . Cover letters should indicate the applicant’s
earliest possible start date. Short-listed candidates will be asked to
supply references at a later date.
