Reporting to the Program Manager, Social Policy, and under the guidance and direction of senior staff, is responsible for researching and providing policy support and advice on emerging legislation, regulations and Regional policies and practices in accordance with the Community and Health Services Department and Branch initiatives; conducting research, program and policy development and data management activities; developing written and electronic communication materials; and monitoring developments, opportunities, trends in legislation, human services policies and procedures, community development and the broader political environment.

Policy & Business Process Specialist, Commissioner’s Office, York Region. Apply by September 30, 2014.

Reporting to the Manager, Policy and Business Processes, is responsible for participating in the development of the Department’s policy and strategic planning and performance measurement and providing support to the Commissioner’s Office; coordinating and managing special projects for the Commissioner that are strategic in nature; developing specified corporate policies and programs for the Commissioner, in consultation with Department Senior Management, Regional Departments and CAO’s Office; leading Department quality initiatives that drive continuous improvement throughout the Department and leads to efficiencies and effectiveness of current and proposed processes, policies, projects and programs; drafting reports; developing cross-functional linkages, to ensure that Department policies and programs align with corporate goals; representing the Department and leading or participating as a member of internal and external committees and project teams.
